Waiting for this ? ðŸ¤
Longhorns, beer, Texas heat, and influencer marketing — oh my.
You’ve been waiting on me — I’m aware.
I’ll give you a quick recap of Texas and share some photos here.
If you’ve ever asked the question — what is Cara’s job? — The conference I attended sums it up.
Basically— big conference by Impact (influencer marketing platform) was held in Austin to talk about all types of online marketing with a bunch of brands, agencies, and creators. Brands need sales. Creators need to get paid for the work they do for brands no matter the follower count. Agencies are the middle man to help negotiate and make sure both teams win.
Conferences like this are usually held to see how we’re making efforts to closing that gap since the online space (and the economy), how consumers are interacting with content and making purchases blah blah blah— this digital landscape is always evolving.
If this sounds too technical— it’s okay.
I could nerd out about it for hours.
I stumbled into the social media marketing/digital marketing space in 2020 by trying my hand at freelance copywriting and then I built my online business doing UGC (user generated content — fancy term to say I make ads for brands) and social media management in 2023.
I love marketing. I lowkey love a KPI and a brand strategy. And I love being online (usually).
Stumbling into the influencer role—partly on accident, partly on purpose— has been the most fun side of the business I’ve experienced.
So anyways — all you care about is the playlist.
Austin was great. I felt cozy. I felt warm.
I got to indulge in all of my southern comfort foods and music. Not feel a bit of shame about my roots, honey.
I don’t listen to much country— but when I do it’s these and it starts to lean more into 70s classic rock.
Enjoy pictures from Texas and mommy being hard at work.
The people you see pictures are the good people that help me make this a full time income— better than I ever could.
